National Students organisation known as Students for Law and Social Justice has strongly condemned the recent abuse of police brutality.

The call comes after police dragged taxi driver Mido Macia behind a police van.

SLSJ said the abuse of power by police violates the South African Constitution on a fundamental level.

National Chairperson for SLSJ Liat Davis said the recent police brutality is an indication of the lack of leadership and management both at police level as well as government level.

Davis added that they feel that police and government must take this incredibly seriously.

She further added that Minister of Police have a national commission of inquiry into policing in the country.
