Fires leaves 60 people homeless over the weekend

As a result of fires that occurred during this past weekend over sixty people were left displaced. 

Fires occurred in Khayalitsha, Lavender Hill, Mfuleni and Manenberg.  City of Cape Town has again warned residents to be careful when dealing with open fire. 

Disaster Risk Management Spokesperson Wilfred Solomon Johannes said disaster management teams have subsequently responded to these occurrences of fires and assisted the victims that have been affected.

Johannes added that fires are dangerous and exercise caution when using fire is important.
