It is alleged that an unknown male suspect forcefully opened the front door of a house in Zandile Street, Bloekombos on Saturday.
“A four month old baby boy sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and died on the scene.
His 30-year-old father sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach and was taken to a local hospital while the 27-year-old mother sustained no visible injuries,” says police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn.
The suspect fled the scene and is still at large.
