SAHRC anxious about police brutality

The South African Human Rights Commission on Friday said it was deeply concerned about reports of the death of a taxi driver allegedly while in police custody.

Mido Macia was brutally assaulted by police officers in Daveyton he later died in police custody.

The SAHRC police brutality cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. 

SAHRC spokesperson Isaac Mangena said “as a commission, any death or assault of anybody in police custody is a matter of great concern that deserves full investigation”

Mangena added that police brutality should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
