On Monday two suspects were convicted and sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Kokstad Magistrate Court for being in possession of drugs after they pleaded guilty last week.
The dagga found by police were worth a street value of R25 000.

Captain Thulani Zwane said the police members received information about two men who were in the taxi coming from Kokstad going to Harding with bags full of dagga.

Police officers followed the information and on the N2 they stopped the taxi and searched the suspects who were found in possession of dagga.

Zwane said operations are being carried out throughout the province to curb out drugs.
