An accident on the M25 in Durban this morning left a school child and a female adult dead and several people injured.

This is after two taxis collided into each other causing some people to be trapped in the taxis.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when we arrived there we actually found out that there were actually four taxis involved and a light motor vehicle.  One of the taxis came over from the opposite lane, went across the intersection and collided with the other vehicles.

Botha said two people tragically died on scene due to the very serious injuries that he had sustained and 19 other people were injured, two of them sustained critical injuries.

In another accident one person died after he sustained multiple injuries. It is believed that a minibus and a motor vehicle collided into each on Summit Road in Midrand this morning.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said upon arrival on scene we found that a heavy goods vehicle, a motor vehicle and a minibus involved in this accident.

Steinmann said tragically the man in the motor vehicle died during the accident and multiple people from the minibus sustained various injuries.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
