SADTU is outraged at the locking of gates and burning of two classrooms and two offices at Phafogang Secondary school in Soweto.

Some teachers who are allegedly SADTU members refuse to accept the appointment of a new principal on the basis that they demand the appointment of their own preferred candidate.

Gauteng Cosatu Provincial Secretary Tseliso Ledimo said Cosatu condemns the disruption of teaching and learning in that school because we are pursuing a learning and teaching campaign in this case we must ensure that every minute of teaching and learning is spent wisely in class.

“This unwarranted disruption of teaching and learning we condemn it with the strongest possible terms and we insist that those who are responsible for the burning of the classrooms, the offices as well as the locking of the gate are brought to book Ledimo added.
