The Independent Democrats has reviewed, refined and consolidated their policy agenda. The party says their agenda is social democratic, but are placing it in a modern and an African context.

Lance Greyling, ID policy convenor says, “The ID’s vision and goal, which will be driven by its policies, is putting people at the heart of the country’s political discourse.”

The party’s key policy themes are; Economics, Housing, Health, Education, Policy on Women and safety and security.

Greyling says that the Independent Democrats are recommitting themselves to the restoration of the family and the social fabric of the country.

“The ID believes that the Minister’s recent announcement that Community Policing Forums must be at the frontline of crime prevention is mere hollow rhetoric unless it backed up with proper financing and provided with adequate resourced as well as transparent crime statistics in their localities”, says Greyling.
