The Cape High Court was overwhelmed on Monday with members of the public waiting to enter courtroom 1 for the sentencing of murder mastermind Dina Rodrigues and the men she hired to murder Baby Jordan-Leigh Norton at her Lansdowne home in June 2005.
However, Judge Bashier Wagley said that, due to pre-sentencing reports that were not ready, the case was postponed to the 18 June.
The crowd in the public gallery were clearly not happy with the postponement and the Norton family seemed disappointed that the almost 2 year trial has still not come to an end.
Rodrigues had been calm sitting in the docks as her mother, Mary Rodrigues, asked how she is and gave her daughter the thumbs up.
Courtroom 1 had not been filled to full capacity as in previous times, presumably due to a strike by public servant’s that is underway this week.
