Minister Ndebele: Correctional officials need more support

Minister of Correctional Services Sibusiso Ndebele has called on communities to give strong support to correctional officials who have a difficult and thankless job. 

Minister Ndebele has also called for support for the department’s Victim-Offender Dialogue programme. 

Ndebele said the low social status of offenders means that they are marginalized and are excluded from mainstream society.

Minister Ndebele added that our laws expect correctional officials to maintain a professional status at all times, to be respectful and impartial towards inmates regardless of their personal beliefs.
