Premier Modise: Perpetrators of gender-based violence must be named and shamed

North West Premier Thandi Modise has called on communities to start reclaiming their streets and neighbourhoods from criminals and start naming and shaming perpetrators. 

This is after an incident whereby an uncle was slained while trying to stop a man from raping his niece. 

Premier Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said Modise has called for a united action to stop gender based violence and the arrest of a 21 year- old suspect not to be granted bail.

“She says that our communities have had enough of these incidents of rape and murder,” Kgwele added.
