The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape said it is concerned by the tensions in Mitchell’s Plain which are taking on a racial characteristic.

Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich has blamed the Mayor of Cape Town Patricia de Lille of not providing leadership and fueling racial tensions.

Cosatu calls on a solution to Mitchell’s Plain that brings together the communities that address the issues of service delivery as well as the security concerned that people have around criminal activities in all area of our city and not in any where related to any community.

We feel we must find solution to bring our closer together that doesn’t fan the flames of racial mistrust and tensions.
