The Western Cape Department of
Health said hospitals and primary healthcare facilities in the province are
well prepared for load shedding.
This as last week the entire country
experienced load shedding on Thursday and more can be expected as more rains in
the Gauteng region
continue.
Ministerial Spokesperson Helene
Rossouw said the department is able to deliver efficient health services during
load shedding.
“We have generators that kick in at hospitals
when the electricity kicks off and our EMS is also
on standby to transport critical patients in between facilities. We also have
portable fridges that are used to keep vaccination and other medication code”. Rossouw
added.
