A truck accident leaves 45 people injured in Free State

A truck accident on an apple farm in Fouriesburg in the Free State left 45 people injured. This is after the truck lost control on a corner and then rolled on a wet and slippery road.

ER24 Spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said all 45 people injured were transported on the back of the truck when the accident occurred.

Rossouw said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found that the injuries people had sustained were from minor to moderate and no fatal or critical injuries were sustained.

"ER24 paramedics treated and transported 17 patients to various hospitals in the area” Rossouw added.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
