Police divers are searching for a 23-year old man, Christo Adams, who went missing in Duiker near Hout Bay on Tuesday.

“A Cray fish bakki capsized at Duiker near Hout Bay and one of the two males which were on board, has gone missing,” says National Sea Rescue spokesperson, Craig Lambinon.

Lambinon adds that Toby Richter, who was on board with Adams, managed to swim to the shore and he shows no signs of injury.

“While we were swimming towards the shore, after our boat capsized, we stopped to remove our oil-skins. At that point I lost sight of my friend who disappeared beneath the surface,” says Richter.

According to Lambinon they believe the accident occurred an hour before rescue authorities were notified, he adds that none of the men were wearing life jackets.

“Metro Rescue Red Cross AMS helicopter, and the police Dive Unit who started searching for Adams on Tuesday, will continue the search on Wednesday morning,” says Lambinon.
