Workers in Marikana Platinum Mine near Rustenburg are downing their tools today.
The workers are demanding that the bodies of the five miners who were killed yesterday be found.
Yesterday five mine workers were killed while working underground and one was injured.
Only two of the five bodies were recovered.
The National Union of Mineworkers have stated that serious action needs to be taken against mines that compromise safety of workers.
A shocking 52 people have been killed working underground this year.
This number is bound to increase if serious measures are put in place soon.
