SA government taking a strong stand

Lusanda Bill

Xenophobic attack rumours have been doing the rounds in South Africa for the past two weeks. This has created unnecessary tension between South Africans and foreign nationals.

The inter-ministerial committee have taken a strong stand, warning South Africans who are planning violent attacks against foreign nationals will be dealt with in a harsh way.

The committee have made it very clear that the South African government will not allow people’s rights to be infringed in anyway.

Several incidents of xenophobic attacks have happened; one example is the Zimbabwean man who was thrown out of a moving train a week ago.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba said yesterday security forces are prepared to protect the lives and possessions of all living within South Africa’s borders.
