A part of the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town was cordoned off last night after a bomb scare. Two suspicious looking bags were found outside the Mitchell's Waterfront Brewery.
Police Spokesperson André Traut says sniffer dogs were immediately brought in and they were unable to rule out the possibility of explosives. The bags were then destroyed in controlled explosions.
The bags had contained books, said Traut.
The area has since been reopened.
