The Western Cape Department of Health has joined forces with several retailers and pharmacies to provide vaccine services and family planning at a normal fee.

This is part of the provincial government’s Health Care 2030 vision which aims to improve the patient experience.

To date the department has contracts in place with 113 service providers and this number expects to increase in the next phase.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helen Rossouw said the pharmacy will provide vaccination and so many planning services to mothers and babies.

"This partnership with the private health sector will definitely grow the economy of the Western Cape,” Rossouw added.
