More than 200 people were left
homeless when two separate fires occurred in Gugulethu and Strand whereby
people lost all their belongings yesterday.

Spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said the first incident occurred in at
the Europe Informal Settlements whereby 31 people were left homeless and 173
people were displaced in Strand .
Solomons-Johannes said on both
incidents there were no injuries reported.
He further urged residents to be
cautious around open fires and electrical cables.
