Over 300 farmworkers evicted illegally at Molenrivier farm

The Food and Allied Workers Union
today said about 300 farm workers have been evicted illegally from Molenrivier
farm near Ceres.
Fawu’s Sandile Keni said no notice
was issued by the owners of the farm regarding this and they are not willing to
pay the workers the minimum wage of R105.00 per day.
Keni said another big issue for the
workers is that there are some safety concerns on the farms.
“Therefore we will be sitting down with management to discuss all this issues and to find a solution because these workers have no where else to go” Keni added.
