Traffic police officer shot and wounded in Mitchell's Plain

Cape Town police are
investigating a shooting incident whereby a 40-year-old traffic officer was
shot and wounded in Rockland's, Mitchell’s Plain on Wednesday.
Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana said
the officer was shot after leaving his house on his patrol vehicle.
Kinana said it is alleged that when the
victim left his home he noticed two unidentified suspects standing next to his
house. One of the suspects fired shots
at him wounding him on his leg which then the victim returned fire and the
suspects fled the scene.
“The motive for this incident is unknown at
this stage and no arrests have been made as yet, however the police have opened
a case of attempted murder” Kinana added.
