A cyclist died after being knocked over by a car in Bloemfontein

An accident this morning on the N8 outside Bloemfotein left one person dead. It is believed that he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle while cycling.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the lifeless body laying 10 meters from the veld.

Meiring said they discovered that the man had sustained multiple fatal injuries and unfortunately nothing more could be done for the man as he was declared dead on the scene.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
