African National Congress Western Cape Provincial Leader Marius Fransman has called on the provincial government and the city Cape Town to immediately declare the 48 areas affected by recent fire and last night’s floods.

Fransman visited an open land in Kapteinsklip behind Mitchell’s Plain this morning where 20 homeless families had been living in makeshift plastic shacks.

ANC Provincial Secretary Makhaya Manie said the Anc calls the city of Cape Town to declare them as emergency stricken areas and they should be assisted with relief efforts immediately because  These areas require immediate support from the provincial government.

“Provincial leader Fransman has also called on all those who can support the victims of the fires and floods and also visit the situation those people live into,” Manie added.
