The Democratic Alliance said the
recent unemployment figures released by Goldman Sachs Two Decades of Freedom
shows that the rate of unemployment has increase since 1994.
DA MP of Finance Tim Harris said
government has failed to tackle unemployment.
The report shows that narrow
unemployment is up by 5.6% and broad unemployment is up by 5.3%.
Harris said there are some aspects
which the government can be commended for the increase in the size of the
middle class and some reduction in poverty.
He added that the significance
failure in the past two years is any progress in tackling unemployment in the
past twenty years and the rate has increased in the past.
