A 58-year-old man was left seriously injured when he was involved in a single vehicle collision in Carltonville late last night.

When paramedics arrived on the scene they had to use the jaws of life to free the man who was trapped in the vehicle.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said the man had a few broken ribs and suspected internal injuries.  The other two men who he was travelling in sustained moderate injuries.

Majija said through evidence from the vehicle it appears that because of the wet road the man lost control and it overturned several times.
