The case against two cyclists who attacked
a taxi driver in Sea Point over the weekend has been postponed in the Cape Town
Magistrate Court until the 9th of May.
It is believed that three cyclists were
involved in the incident.
The cyclists attacked the taxi driver with
pepper spray and beat him with a bicycle wheel after the driver allegedly
double parked.
Atlantic Sea Board Counsellor Beverley
Schafer said the police are still investigating the third person and they
believe that they will be questioning him prior to the Cape Argus Cycle Tour on
Sunday.
“So far the case will continue and SAPS is
very happy that this case is postponed for them to be able to collect all the necessary
evidence and witnesses’ statements” Schafer added.
