An accident on the N3 in Villiers late last night left three people dead and three injured. It is believed that a bus and two cars collided into each other.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when paramedics arrived on the scene one motor vehicle was underneath the bus and there was still three people trapped in the wreckage.

Botha said all three people sadly died on the scene due to the extensive injuries that they had sustained. Three others were injured, two were in a critical condition and were treated on the scene and then transported to hospital for further care.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
