The Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union will embark on a protest march against the outsourcing of the Good Hope Centre to a Film Company.

Sactwu’s Coordinator in the Office of the General Secretary Fachmy Abrahams said this would have a negative impact of poor communities who want to hold events at the centre but now cannot do that.
Abrahams said they were not satisfied with the way in which the matter is handled, everyone knows in Cape Town, Goodhope Centre is used annually by Sactwu.

Abrahams said we have now been left destitute, without a venue, for this years 40th anniversary of what is probably one of the most recognisable events in Cape Town and its clear that the city, despite publicly saying they still going to have a public consultation process, has made up their mind to hire out what should be a public venue to a private institution.
