The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works said it will continue with inspections and interventions at the recently completed Scottsdene High School.

This as the school has been said to have structural problems which are deemed unsafe for the learners.

Ministerial Spokesperson Siphsihle Dube said “structural elements of both the double story and the single story building, including bearing walls and floor slabs needed to be assessed against industry standards”

Dube also said, ”this prompted the Western Cape Education Department in consultation with the Department of Transport and Public works to close the newly constructed school on 20th July 2015 as the safety of learners and teaching staff is the highest priority.”
