The Western Cape Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela will hand over 100 title deeds to beneficiaries in Delft, today as part of the Department’s objective to empower vulnerable citizens.

MEC Madikizela hopes this will free beneficiaries from the fear of eviction.

Madikizela said this is part of our program where we write off the debt of people who have been renting from government for a very long time. We thought these people should be rewarded as well because a number of people are getting free houses now.

The MEC said we think it is far that people who have been loyal government debtors for years who can no longer pay back can be assisted as well so that we can write-off their debt and become home owners.

“It is part of our program to Enhanced Extended Discount Benefit Scheme that assist residents to become legal home owners” Madikizela concluded.
