The Western Cape Department of Education has appealed to candidates that qualify to write supplementary exams to apply as soon as possible.
MEC of Education Donald Grant said this
opportunity to re-write the National Senior Certificate must not be
ignored.
The WCED has stated that the closing date
for applications for supplementary exams is not flexible.
Ministerial Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said
the applications for the supplementary exams close on the 24th of
January and the actual exams will be written in February and March.
Casey said candidates can qualify to write
supplementary exams if they failed a maximum of up to two subjects or in
exceptional cases they were medically unfit and as a result could not write one
or two examinations.
