At approximately 10 pm on Sunday night, Atlantis detectives arrested a 26 year old man, on charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed fire arm and ammunition.
“It is alleged that the suspects fired a series of gun shots to the victim, and then fled the scene on foot. The victim was immediately conveyed to the nearest hospital for attendance where he was declared dead,” says Captain Elliot Sinyangana.
The Atlantis Police Department confirmed that the incident was gang related.
The suspect is due to appear at Atlantis Magistrate court on Tuesday, 11 December 2007.
Anyone with information can contact Detective Captain Rodney Ross of Atlantis SAPS or their Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
