The Cape Town Traffic Services Department is warning all motorists that no curb drunken and reckless driving in the City will be tolerated during the festive season, and road blocks will be set up targeting these motorists.
The Traffic Services media spokesperson Kelvyn Visser said that from the 1st of September until the 29th of November there have already been 1219 motorists arrested while another 458 were detained by police for not appearing in court.
“If you have outstanding traffic fines settle them, because you don’t want to be stopped in a road block during this season, to account for them,” says Visser.
They warn that traffic officials will be checking number plate compliance to and advise motorists to settle outstanding fines and warrant of arrests immediately.
