The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union in Mpumalanga will be embarking on a one day strike action by marching to the Mpumalanga Department of Social Development to deliver a memorandum of demands.

Nehawu Mpumalanga Provincial Secretary Sizwe Motha said this follows several failed engagements with the department on a number of issues that concern workers.

Motha said they will give the MEC a reasonable period to respond the demands and if the workers are still unhappy then we will embark on a full blown strike.

“Generally the issues are related to massive nepotism in the recruitment process dating back from 2009” Motha added.
