88 year old women dead and security guard stabbed to death

A 88-year-old woman died this after in a car accident in Benoni.

 It is believed that the vehicle she was driving lost control and hit a pole.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other provincial services, arrived on scene and found the light motor vehicle pushed up against a pole on the side of the road.

Meiring added that on assessment the elderly woman lying slumped over the steering wheel with no signs of life. Unfortunately, the patient showed no signs of life and was declared dead on scene

Meanwhile a stabbing incident along Montpelier Road in Durban late last night resulted in a security guard being stabbed to death.

 

It is belived that the 43-year-old security guard was guarding a shop when he was attacked by an unknown suspect and stabbed to death.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when they arrived on the scene they found him still lying on the ground unresponsive. Paramedics continued with advanced life support resuscitation for quite some time.

Botha said tragically the man died there on scene due to the extensive injuries he had sustained.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
