The Road Traffic Management Corporation has launched a campaign to educate young people to discourage the abuse of alcohol in order to reduce the carnage on our roads.

A recent study on road crash fatalities indicated that young people between the ages of 20 and 30 constitute 50% of road deaths.

RTMC Spokesperson Simon Zwane said as the Road Traffic Management Corporation has partnered with the Industry association for responsible alcohol use to discourage young people from driving under the influence of alcohol.

Zwane added that we know that driving under the influence of alcohol contributes enormously to car crashes and deaths on the road.

“We are trying to assist young people, reduce the road carnages, save lives and show that young people can grow and realize their full potential.” Zwane concluded.
