Two suspects arrested for theft and house robbery in Zwelitsha

Eastern Cape police have arrested two suspects aged 20 and 25-years-old for housebreaking and theft.  Police have confirmed that the stolen goods are worth R87,000. 

The arrests of the two suspects come after police received information from the community about the house robbery in Bhisho. 

Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa said Bhisho Detectives worked around the clock in tracing the suspects that broke into a flat in Amatola View, Bhisho on the 31st December 2013.

“The case was reported by the complainant on the 03rd  of January 2014 and police immediately investigated the case,” Mawisa added.

Mawisa also said following the investigation police have recovered the stolen items including 3 plasma televisions, Sony sound system with two speakers, Telefunken microwave, clothing, and shoes.

The suspects are appearing in the Zwelitsha Magistrate Court today.
