Five suspects appeared in court for murdering a station commander in Elliotdale

Five suspects accused of murdering a station comander of Elliotdale appeared in court on Tuesday. 

Lieutenant Colonel Nomalizo Dukumbane was shot dead at her home in December last year. 

Lieutenant Khaya Tonjeni said The Eastern Cape Hawks arrested Sipho Simon Makhabeni 46 years old, Siyamcela Ntshitshi 33 years old on the 29th of December 2014 and later.

“Their co- accused, a 41 year old Warrant Officer Phumzile Ngqayimbana and a 37 year old female Constable Noxolo Matya who were both stationed at Elliotdale police station on charges of murder.   

One more suspect, Mbuyiseli Ngqayimbana 37 years-old was arrested on the 06th of January, increasing the number of suspects to five,” Tonjeni added.

The five suspects are expected to remain in custody until their next court appearance on the 28th of January for a formal bail application.
