UPDATE:
Yesterday morning members of the Nyanga Police doing their patrols in Nyanga spotted a blue VW Polo which was reported earlier the morning by its owner.

According to police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn when the police approached the vehicle which the suspects occupied they sped off.

“Police members then entered and searched the house, and during their search they found five sets of police issued uniforms, a hand radio, a roadblock stop sign, two bullet-proof vests and three illegal firearms,” says Steyn.

Two men who were in the house were arrested and charged for possession of firearms and police issued uniforms. The three men who sped off were pulled over in a nearby vicinity and taken into custody for questioning.

Police suspect that there might be a possibility that the suspects are linked to an armed robbery in Khayelitsha.

The suspects are to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s court tomorrow.
