Seven people dead in an accident involving a taxi and a truck

A tragic accident late last night left seven people dead and three others injured on the R38 between Badplaas and Barbeton in Mpumalanga.

ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said a taxi and a truck collided into each.

Bodasing says when ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found people, some of whom were ejected from the taxi, lying all over the area. Some were found several metres away from where the incident occurred.

“Seven people, among them a child about three years old, were declared dead, three people sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were transported to hospital” Bodasing added.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
