Substance abuse treatment program to rollout in Kraaifontein and Stellenbosch

The Western Cape Department of Social Development will be providing substance abuse treatment programme in Kraaifontein and Stellenbosch.

The department states that these programmes are additional inpatient substance abuse treatment programmes to those offered by the department currently.

The programmes are voluntary and through court referrals.

Departmental Head of Communication Esther Lewis says as of the 1st of May, the Western Cape Department of Social Development will provide substance abuse treatment program for children and youth with acute substance dependency problems at the De Novo Treatment Centre in Kraaifontein accommodating males aged 16 to 17-years-old.

“Lindelani child and youth care centre in Koelenhof will accommodate males and females aged 13 to 15-years-old. The substance abuse treatment program at Lindelani will run separately from all other child and youth care centre programmes” Lewis added.
