The Democratic Alliance on Friday
said the statement issued by Special Investigation Unit’s Booi Ndala
questioning the integrity of the DA’s sources is out of line.
DA’s Shadow Deputy Minister of
Justice and Constitutional Development Debbie Schafer said the DA regards the
SIU as a vital institution in the fight against corruption and it would never
raise issues which could damage it.
Schafer said that the DA’s concerns
regarding the SIU are genuine.
“We are quite confident that the
information we have is reliable, if the SIU have nothing to hide they will
welcome an investigation by the public protector to clarify what information is
correct and what information is not” Schafer added.
