The South African National Civic Organisation on Friday said the rise in
the number of road deaths called for a cleansing ceremony at the country's
According to the report, Zuma said it was important to have such a ceremony
in the wake of incidents such as the Marikana shooting in August, political
assassinations and the country’s rape crisis.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation announced this week that 1, 068
people had lost their lives in road accidents between 1 - 25 December.
Sanco said church and traditional leaders should work together and organise
a cleansing prayer at some of the country's major roads.
