WC Department of Health: Certain medicines limited

The Western Cape Department of Health today said there are some medicines of limited stock but medicines are not out of stock.

This follows a report by a media organisation stating that the department has run out of medicine stock.

MEC Theuns Botha spokesperson Helene Rossouw said the limited stock is the result of the National Department of Health awarding medicine contracts too late.

Rossouw added that patients who have a problem with medicine shortage should go to the facility manage to report it, or return next week for the stock because the stock is carefully managed on a weekly basis.
