The YST programme is an initiative of the Department of Social Development in partnership with the Community Chest and Cape Nature. It was borne out of an extensive 7 month ministerial youth outreach initiative which covered all six regions of the province last year.

“The Western Cape Department of Social Development in conjunction with the community just recently helped the Graduation for the youth skills transport programme”, said Sihle Ngobese, spokesperson for Adv. Albert Fritz.

“Which saw 117 graduates who hail from Metro, getting their certificates for competence and training, project management, event management, financial management and other business skills”, said Ngobese.

He concluded… “The YST has seen a total of 363 youth from across the province, graduate from the programme”.
