WC DENOSA to lead a march over appalling state of working conditions

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa in Western Cape will be leading a nurses’ march from various health facilities in the province on March 16th, Wednesday.

The Nurse’s organisation will hand over a memorandum of demands for the improvement of their working conditions at the Provincial Legislature.

DENOSA’s Sibongiseni Dalihlazo in a statement says, “Nurses will be raising various challenges that nurses encounter in facilities daily, ranging from:

§  Severe shortage of nurses, support staff and extraordinary long queues in health facilities in the province
§  Shortage of medication, broken and non-repaired equipment
§  Lack of resources (both financial and huma), Lack of safety in the workplace
§  None-payment of health workers.

Led by provincial, regional and local leaders, nurses will gather at Kaizergracht Street, down Darling Street, south on Adderley, west on Wale Street and stop on Wale Street at the provincial legislature.
