The DA requests for Minister Muthabi and SABC be summoned to parliament

The DA will write to the acting Chairperson
of the Portfolio Committee on Communication, Dikeledi Tosetsi, requesting that
Minister Faith Muthabi and the SABC be summoned to
parliament for a full briefing on recent developments at the public
broadcaster.
In the latest in a string of scandals, the SABC is reported to
have canned on the record with Vuyo Mvoko because Mvoko had planned to host a
live show on the state of capture and the Guptas.
“Following
allegations that Vuyo Mvoko’s TV show has been cancelled on SABC ,
allegedly because SABC bosses were upset with him wanting to record a show on
the Guptas and State Capture”, said Phumzile Van Damme.
“We
then requested that parliament be given a full briefing by the Minister of
Communication and the SABC on this matter and other matters currently happening
at the SABC ”, concluded Van
Damme.
