Case against Ayesha Kelly's alleged killers continues in September

The state and defense are preparing their closing arguments in the case of a Mitchell's Plain child murder case. These arguments will be delivered in the Western Cape High Court on 2 September.

Cameron Julies and Chadwin Williams are on trial for the December 2019 murder of 10-year-old Ayesha Kelly.

The state claims that they shot at a rival gangster in Tafelsig, but missed their target and instead fatally wounding the child who was walking to a shop at the time.

Julies is alleged to be the trigger man, while the suspected murder weapon has been found on Williams' possession.

Julies testified, in his own defense, telling the court that they were together but was on their way to buy drugs when they heard shots ringing out. He also claims that another member of a Hard Livings gang, which they both were members of at the time, were responsible for the shooting

The duo have pleaded not guilty to over 10 charges related to the shooting.
