In the first incident, a 44-year-old man was arrested in Mitchells Plain for 49 outstanding warrants valued at R111 300.

Traffic services spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout, says officers pulled over a vehicle on Highlands Drive at approximately 06:00, and the driver was subsequently arrested.

Bezuidenhout explained that an hour later, at the N1 and Sable Road, officers pulled over a driver who had an outdated public driving permit.

‘’When they did a further check, they discovered he has 20 outstanding warrants valued at R64 700. The 30-year-old tried making a run for it, but he was apprehended after a short chase.’’
